Skin Cancer Prevention

There are different types of skin cancers; the most common types include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Basal cell carcinoma often appears as a flesh-colored, pearl-like bump or a pinkish patch of skin. Squamous cell carcinoma usually manifests as a firm, red nodule or a flat lesion with a scaly crust. The most dangerous form of melanoma develops from existing moles or appears as new pigmented growths, usually having irregular borders and many colors. Early detection of skin cancer is only possible through regular skin examinations and awareness of these distinct characteristics, making it an important aspect of Skin Cancer Prevention.
